Generally speaking, balcony cabins are the most popular type of cabin on modern cruise ships. Anthem has several categories of balcony cabins. Unusually, this includes a number of single occupancy cabins.
The Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Large Balcony (seen here) is 198 sq. ft. It has two twin beds that convert to a Royal King. There is also a sitting area with sofa, two closet/cabinets, full bathroom and private balcony (55 sq. ft.). |
Ocean View cabins have a window rather than a balcony.
In addition to ocean view cabins that look out over port or starboard, Anthem has several that look out over the bow. The Large Ocean View Stateroom (left) has two twin beds that convert to Royal King, a full bathroom, plus sitting area with sofa, window seat and lounge chair. (302 sq. ft.). The Superior Ocean View Stateroom (below) is larger (502 sq. ft) and includes an alcove by the window. |
At first glance, the interior staterooms may look like an exterior cabin because they have virtual balconies. These are large video screens that show the area surrounding the ship in real time. Thus, you can look at the screen and see the weather and a view of the port or the sea just like looking out of a window. The screens have an on/off feature.
Interior cabins have two beds which can be converted into one large bed. Some cabin categories have a seating area. Large Interior Stateroom with Virtual Balcony range from 178 to 187 sq. ft. |
Anthem also has a number of single occupancy studio interior staterooms (left). These cabins are 101 sq. ft., have a large bed, a storage cabinet/closet and a full bathroom. They also have a virtual balcony.
The studio cabins are located off vestibules that they share with junior suites (below). To make a larger cabin, the door dividing the vestibule from the corridor can be closed so that the studio cabin and the junior suite become one large stateroom with two bedrooms. |
