Freedom of the Seas has one main dining room. However, this huge room has three levels each of which bears the first name of a famous man of science, although in the case of "Leonardo," it is more correct to say he was an artist first and a scientist second..
For breakfast, the Leonardo portion of the restaurant on Deck 3 offers both a buffet and table service. It is done on an open seating basis. Lunch (sea days) utilizes the same level. It is also open seating. At dinner, two levels of the restaurant (Leonardo and Issac) follow the traditional dining system with each passenger assigned to a specific table at either the main seating or the late seating. The other level (Galileo) follows a flexible dining system. Each guest who opts for this system can dine there any time the restaurant is open. There is no specific table assignment so a guest may not have the same waiters or table companions throughout the cruise. However, the ship tries to seat guests so that they have the same waiters each night. Reservations are encouraged but are not mandatory. |
