POOLS AND SPORTS FACILITIES

Symphony of the Seas, pool deck
Symphony of the Seas has plenty for those looking for active relaxation.

The ship has three large swimming pools.  All three are on Deck 15 flanking the opening for Central Park.  Each of the pools has a hot tub and sun loungers associated with it.

Just aft of the Beach Pool on the starboard side is Splashaway Bay, a water park for toddlers and kids.  It includes a giant drench bucket, a jungle gym, slides and water cannons.

Forward of the pool complex is the adult-only Solarium area.  It is partially-covered with clear baffles to protect against the wind.  In addition, a large part of the Solarium on Symphony is covered by an art installation called "Big Wonder."  In addition to loungers and hot tubs, the Solarium has a small pool with a clear wall so as not to interupt the view of those in the pool.

Between the Solarium and the pool complex are two large whirlpools that jut out from the sides of the ship (below).  There is one on either side.

Symphony has to large waterslides called the Perfect Storm.  They are located at the forward end of the pool complex, one on either side.
At the aft end of Deck 16 is the Ultimate Abyss.  This pair of dry slides tower 150 feet above sea level.  They take guests from the entrance on Deck 16 to the Boardwalk on Deck 6  - - a 100 foot drop - -  in approximately 13 seconds.

Guests can also hurtle over the Boardwalk 10 decks below on the Zipline (above right).

Other sports facilities in this area include the Sports Court, a full-size basketball court (not shown) and the nine-hole mini-golf course (below left).

Below the sports area are two rock climbing walls, one on either side of the Boardwalk (right).

Symphony of the Seas jogging trail
Above: Circling around Deck 5 is the jogging trail.  Inasmuch as it is inboard of the life boats, there is not much of a view for much of the circuit.  However, at the stern, there are no obstructions and there are great views of the sea.
Below: Just ahead of the lifeboats towards the forward end of the jogging trail are two alcoves.  One is equipped for shuffleboard while the other has ping pong tables.
