Silver Ray is a relatively small luxury cruise ship. She offers a sophisticated cruise experience in an intimate environment.
Although Silver Ray is as large as some cruise ships that carry more than a thousand passengers, her maximum capacity is 728. As a result, the ship has a high passenger to space ratio. She also has a very good passenger to crew ratio, which often means good service. The ship has 364 cabins all of which have large balconies and such features as walk-in closets, large bathrooms and butler service. There are no waterslides or rock-climbing walls. However, Silver Ray does have a swimming pool and an infinity whirlpool. Inside features include such things as ten bars and lounges, space for its enrichment program, a jazz club and a casino. In addition to the main dining room and the buffet, Silver Ray has an array of specialty restaurants, only one of which has an additional charge. The ship was designed with the environment in mind. She has a hybrid LNG/diesel power plant. In addition, she has fuel cells and batteries so that she does not have to burn fuel while in port. She also has the ability to utilize shoreside power. This technology leads to a 40 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. |
