PROFILE
Cruise ship Seabourn Sojourn

SUMMARY

Seabourn Sojourn is an ultra-luxury cruise ship.
Seabourn prides itself on its high service standards and the
quality of its offering.  Most things are included in the price of
the cruise.

Sojourn is the second ship in Seabourn's Odyssey class
of ships.  She was built in Italy at the T. Mariotti yard in
Genoa.

At 32,000 gross tons, she is much larger than the ships
that made up the Seabourn fleet prior to the coming of
Seabourn Odyssey.  However, she is still much smaller than
the ships being built by the premium and mass market cruise
lines.

There are two reasons for her small size.  First, Seabourn
built its reputation on providing a yacht-style cruise experience.
Keeping the ships small helps to retain that feeling of intimacy
and exclusivity.

Second, the small size enables Sojourn to go places
where the larger cruise ships cannot go.  This is important
because people interested in ultra-luxury cruising tend to be
experienced travelers who do not want to go to just the big
name ports but to places off-the-beaten track as well.

While Sojourn is relatively small, good use has been
made of the space.  Her terraced superstructure enables there
to be a good amount of outdoor space.  Inside, she has
restaurants, a show lounge, casino, bars, library, Internet, and
shops.  In short, the features one would expect to find on a
modern cruise ship.

The interior is not the opulent luxury of the classic ocean
liners.  Rather, it is modernistic with smooth clean lines.  It
sparkles in places but does not dazzle.  The public areas are
generally understated in a contemporary elegance.

The objective is to create an atmosphere that foster
sociability as on a yacht.

Sojourn roams the world.  Her schedule takes her around
the tip of South America, to the Mediterranean, to Canada and
New England and to the Caribbean.
