Most of the shops on Independence are along the Royal Promenade. The line-up of shops has changed over the years and now includes some upmarket outlets. Among the offers are fashion, cosmetics, jewelry, souvenirs and general items.

The former cigar lounge has been transformed into a library. It includes computer terminals and so acts as an internet cafe as well as a reading room.

The art gallery sells works of art and conducts art auctions..

The Photo Gallery offers photos taken by the ship's photographers. These are no longer displayed on long racks but rather are stored digitally. Guests can browse through the photos at one of the terminals and order prints of the ones they like.
