Costa Pacifica cruise ship profile
SUMMARY
Costa Pacifica is a medium size cruise ship catering primarily to the Italian and other European cruise markets. Ship-board announcements are made in five languages and the crew speak English. The atmosphere is casual resort style.
This ship was the third ship built for Costa' Concordia class. In addition to the ill-fated Concordia, her sister ships include Costa Serena, Costa Favolosa, and Costa Fascinosa. Carnival Splendor was also part of the order Carnival Corporation placed with Italy's Fincantieri shipyard. The general design of this class of ships evolved from the original Carnival Destiny and through Carnival's Conquest class. Consequently, those familiar with the Carnival ships should have no difficulty finding their way around these ships. Costa Pacifica's interior decoration was designed by Carnival Corporation's long-time interior architect Joe Farcus. Mr. Farcus likes to design interiors around a unifying concept and on Pacifica, the theme he choose was music. Consequently, the various public rooms pay homage to different types of music from classical to musicals to rock and roll. Pacifica was the first cruise ship to set sail with its own recording studio. The ship has a wide range of features and amenities. These include nine swimming pools and hot tubs. In addition to the two main dining rooms and a large buffet restaurant, Pacifica has a number of specialized venues including a sushi bar, a pizzeria, a gelateria and a restaurant serving sustainable foods according to menus designed by three celebrity chefs. There is also a large theater, a disco, a casino, a spa, shops and areas dedicated to children and young cruisers. Pacifica has 11 bars and lounges. |
